Knox was born and raised in doma his parents unfortunately died in the garlean occupation that swept through his village, leaving him orphaned on the streets playing street games and gambling to get by on little scraps as he got older he was a troublemaker stealing and doing petty crimes until he was recruited by the resistance,they needed everything man who was able to hold a weapon,and so he joined in hopes of getting some type of honor or glory only to end up with a life-changing injury,during the battle at doma castle his windpipe was crushed by magitek machinery leaving him bleeding and dying for air it was horrible he managed to survive said injury with the help of a lone gunbreaker and a team of healers his voice and neck was horribly damaged he couldn't speak mute forever until they found a odd solution augmenting one of the garlean devices into a makeshift voice box for him…and the rest was history once he was recovered he left the resistance and decided that will live for himself and does what he wants in life.
